What is PARCR?

The Pennsylvania Alliance of Retirement Community Residents (PARCR) is an organization of residents of Non-Profit retirement communities involved in the governance of their own communities.

PARCR represents twenty-four (24) retirement communities located in South Eastern Pennsylvania. Each community designates two voting representatives from their resident council to serve as the liason between their council and the organization. In addition, there are "independent members" from the member communities who take an active role. PARCR meets quarterly in a different member community each time.

The major objective of PARCR is the development of effective Resident Councils. This is accomplished by a program that includes an educational component, the sharing of best ideas (program and practices) and opportunity to develop friendships from the different communities. We encourage working closely with community administration to "make their organization even better."

PARCR works closely with LeadingAge PA, the National Continuing Care Retirement Association (NaCCRA), and LeadingAge USA. While not a political organization, PARCR advocates vigorously in support of issues related to seniors.
